This is a good collectable, I wish i could pose it more, but It looks great with the rest my my vampire collection. But be careful handling him... some parts on his body are very sensitive, the hands mainly. Otherwise I love this figure.
First the thumb on the sword hand broke off. Then one of the other fingers broke off.
This was right after taking the toy out of the packaging. It's not a very good likeness of Kain and not the sturdiest of figures. Do yourself a favor and hunt down one of the figures that was released along with the first Soul Reaver game.
This figure looks great, but its wrist joints are brittle as heck. The left wrist snapped off when I took it out of the package. Nothing a little super glue couldnt fix, but NECA should still manage their quality control issues.
Its still a good figure though. Just watch out for the non-interchangeable wrist.
Heavy action figure-very sturdy;Great likeness ! Funny, I have had it for quite a few years with NO PROBLEMS. Guess it's all about how you treat them...

The likeness of Kain is actually fairly faithful to the artwork on the first game. Kain changed noticeably between Legacy of Kain and Soul Reaver. The reasoning was made plain in Soul Reaver: The vampires evolved and changed with time. As to durability, the prior reviewers have a valid point. Chinese made plastics are not the best formulated in the world. Price point is their best attribute, not high quality. That said, an action figure such as this one isn't really meant to be a hard-use toy for a young child. They are aimed at the collector. Most remain in their original packaging so as to maximize investment. However, some figure collectors like to display them in a more realistic setting so there are bound to be some handling issues. None of my own Soul Reaver figure collection have suffered any damage, but I don't handle them much, and that helps longevity. All in all, I find this figure a good addition to the Soul Reaver action figure stable; it will probably be the last produced.
